Welcome to the Olympia (WA) Branch of AAUW!

AAUW Olympia Branch is celebrating our 100 year anniversary this year, 2025. According to one of the historians for the Olympia Branch, the first meeting to form the organization began with the efforts of Mrs. Maude C. Roberts Brodie and Mrs. Elgia Wittwer Dawley, on January 18th, 1925. These two neighbors felt that an organization of college women could help fulfill the need for a cultural background in the community. This meeting was attended by approximately 50 women and began the organization we still attend today.
